Women, Wellness & Cannabis: Building Community Through Women Sesh
When we talk about wellness, many of us think about yoga classes, green smoothies, or maybe a self-care Sunday ritual. But for Patricia Espinosa—single mother of five, salon owner, community leader, and founder of Women Sesh—wellness also means cannabis, sisterhood, and creating spaces where women can heal together.
From Personal Healing to Community Building
Patricia’s journey into cannabis began out of necessity. As a mother to a son with autism, she was searching for safe, alternative medicine when traditional options fell short. What she discovered was more than relief—it was empowerment. By educating herself about tinctures, edibles, and strains, Patricia realized that cannabis wasn’t just a tool for her son’s well-being, but also a path toward her own healing.
That spark turned into something bigger. Drawing from her 20 years in the beauty industry, Patricia saw how often women quietly carried the weight of stress, mental health struggles, and family responsibilities. She wanted to create a safe, supportive space for women to explore cannabis and holistic wellness—without stigma. And so, Women Sesh was born.
What is Women Sesh?
Think of Women Sesh as a brunch, a healing circle, and a cannabis educational workshop rolled into one. Held inside Patricia’s spacious Covina salon, the gatherings blend cannabis knowledge with sound healing, tarot readings, wellness coaching, and conversation. More than just consumption, the sessions are about connection—women sharing stories, supporting one another, and leaving lighter than when they arrived.
“People don’t just want to buy cannabis and go home. They want an experience. They want to connect.” – Patricia Espinosa
Each Sesh feels unique, featuring local women entrepreneurs, healers, and advocates. From chefs specializing in infused cuisine to lupus foundation leaders, the events highlight the diversity of women using cannabis as part of their wellness journeys.
Cannabis as a Woman’s Plant
Patricia emphasizes something powerful: cannabis itself is deeply feminine. From the delicacy of its growth cycle to its nurturing properties, the plant mirrors the resilience and adaptability of women. For her, women are uniquely positioned to lead cannabis conversations—especially when it comes to using it as medicine for mental health, menopause, parenting stress, and beyond.
At Women Sesh, attendees learn not just about strains and cannabinoids but also about how cannabis intersects with holistic healing and everyday life. By breaking down stigma and offering education, Patricia is normalizing conversations around women and cannabis in a way that feels safe and uplifting.
Better Daze & the Next Chapter
This September, Better Daze Dispensary is proud to support Women Sesh with a booth at the upcoming event in Covina. Our mission aligns perfectly with Patricia’s, to provide trusted cannabis education, safe access, and meaningful community connections.
For locals, this isn’t just another dispensary opening—it’s about creating a hub where everyone can learn, explore, and heal together. Whether you’re curious about cannabis for the first time or already integrating it into your wellness routine, Women Sesh is a chance for women to connect, ask questions, and feel empowered without worry of judgement.
